Working with members of the community and Rail partners, we are helping to regenerate Filey Railway Station, a grade 2 listed building. A group of volunteers run the Railway Station 'Buffers Cafe' , which provides tasty meals, snacks and refreshments to Railway Travellers, visitors and locals.

Filey Tapestry

Local people are working on a tapestry illustrating Filey's rich cultural and fishing heritage. With a completion date in Febriuary 2009, the project is funded by the Local Heritage Initiative via the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Shore walk

Initially financed by the Children's Fund the Filey Rocks and Fossils project uses seashore walks and activity days to inform and educate families and children. With more than 200 participants a year, most of whom are local, the project has been a huge success. Filey4wards provides advice for the project.

 

Discovery

Filey4wards is a participant and advisor in the initiative known as the Filey Bay Partnership. Members of the Partnership are seeking grant funding to build a concept centre, initially known as the 'Filey Bay Discovery Centre' . Covering a breadth of features, from culture and heritage, to the natural environment and biodiversity, the centre aims to be a coastal equivalent of the famous 'Eden Centre'
